Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program

For the Deschutes National Forest and the Collaboration Group working with the Forest, this mean restoration of 145,000 acres of Deschutes National Forest land and 33,000 acres of private land over the next ten years.

The landscape included in the CFLRA project is highly valued for the municipal water, diverse recreation, and wildlife habitat. It includes significant Wildland Urban Interface lands adjacent to the communities of Sisters and Bend.

The CFLRA project brings together five distinct collaborative efforts including:  the Central Oregon Partnership for Wildfire Risk Reduction, Fire Learning Network, Project Wildfire, the Deschutes Provincial Advisory Committee, and the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council.

The CFLRA project with the Deschutes National Forest requested $10.1 million of Collaborative Forest Land Restoration Act funding to be matched by approximately $12.2 million of appropriated and partnership funding over the 10 year-life of the project. In 2010, the project received $500,000 of funding.
